Boiler Installs - Locations and Cost Savings
During our most recent property renovation project, the old boiler was located within the garage, which is not the most energy efficient location to install a boiler.
Pre project scoping, included, to move the boiler into the kitchen, as per most modern new build homes, to make the boiler more efficient.
Once project delivery started, the heating engineer highlighted, that there would be a cost saving, to move the boiler ,into the airing cupboard at the top of the stairs rather than the kitchen as originally planned , as this isn't deemed a boiler move by some providers, therefore incurring lower install costs, around 30% saving.
A decision was made to change the install locations, to the airing cupboard, and save 30%, from the project costs, to be used elsewhere in the business.
When scoping boiler moves, it may be beneficial to ask the company installing the boiler, pre instillation, if there are any cheaper location's within the home, that can be used, rather than the kitchen, as the cost savings could be significant.
